Cheapest way to host a vibe-coded app (2026)
You built the app with Lovable, Bolt or a coding agent; now you want it live for as close to $0 as possible. These hosts are compared on what the free plan really allows (commercial use, sleeping, hard limits) and the first paid step when you outgrow it. Static and serverless apps can stay free for a long time on Cloudflare or Netlify; apps with an always-on server or database cost about $5 to $7 a month on Railway, Render or DigitalOcean, and Coolify or Dokploy lets many apps share one server you rent.

Static or serverless: stay on a free plan
If your app is a frontend that talks to a hosted backend such as Supabase, it is a static site plus maybe a few functions, and that is the cheapest thing to host. Cloudflare Workers Free includes 100,000 requests a day, and requests for static assets are free and unlimited. Netlify Free is $0 forever with a 300-credit monthly limit (a production deploy costs 15 credits, bandwidth 20 credits per GB). Vercel Hobby is free too, but only for personal, non-commercial projects.
An always-on server or database: about $5 to $7 a month
Apps with a Node or Python server, background jobs or websockets need a host that keeps a process running. Railway Hobby is a $5/mo minimum that includes $5 of usage; its Free plan starts with a 30-day trial with $5 of credit, then $1/mo of credit. Render has free web services and a free Postgres, but free web services sleep after 15 minutes idle; its smallest always-on instance is $7/mo (512 MB RAM). Fly.io has no free plan, only a trial, but its smallest always-on Machine is about $2.19 per 30 days.
The first paid step on each host
Cloudflare Workers Paid is a $5/mo account minimum with 10 million requests included and no egress charges. Netlify Personal is $9/mo with 1,000 credits, and Pro is $20/mo with 3,000 credits and unlimited members. Vercel Pro is $20 per seat a month and includes $20 of usage credit. Render’s Pro workspace is $25/mo plus compute. Check whether you pay per seat (Vercel) or per workspace before you add teammates.
Many apps on one server: Coolify, or a free tier that never sleeps
If you plan to run several small apps, self-hosting Coolify (open source, free, all features) on one VPS lets them share a single server bill, with git-push deploys and automatic HTTPS. Coolify itself needs 2 CPU cores, 2 GB RAM and 10 GB disk, and you take on server updates and backups; Coolify Cloud runs the dashboard for $5/mo (2 servers) if you would rather not host it. Dokploy is a similar free, open-source option with native Docker Compose and Heroku buildpacks; it needs at least 2 GB RAM and 30 GB disk, and Dokploy Cloud runs its dashboard for $4.50/mo per server. Northflank’s Sandbox tier gives 2 free services, 1 free database and 2 free cron jobs that don’t sleep, and its paid plans start at $2.70/mo. DigitalOcean App Platform hosts up to 3 static sites free and runs an always-on container from $5/mo. Heroku has no free plan anymore: Eco is $5/mo and its dynos sleep after 30 minutes idle.
Watch for hard limits and sleeping
Free plans fail in different ways. Netlify’s free credits are a hard limit. Cloudflare’s free limits reset daily. Render’s free web services spin down when idle, so the first visitor after a quiet spell waits for a cold start. Vercel Hobby can’t be used for a commercial app at all, so a paid launch means Pro. Pick the failure mode you can live with.
Don’t forget the database bill
Hosting the frontend is rarely the expensive part. Supabase Free (500 MB database, 2 projects, paused after a week idle) or Neon Free keep the data side at $0 for a small app; Render’s free Postgres and Cloudflare D1 are other options. See our database guide for what each costs after the free tier.
